CaoYuan Ellen Zhang

Pain Management Specialist

Born and raised in Chongqing, China, Ellen began her Traditional Chinese Medicine journey as a young professional athlete in swimming and basketball. During the intense training and competitions, Ellen had various degrees of injuries. Acupuncture, cupping and herbal formulas always came to her as a rescue since a young age.

After completing her MBA and working at several Fortune 500 companies in her 20’s, she suffered from anxiety, sleep disorders, and depression from the stressful work environment. Fortunately, Acupuncture helped her again to release a lot of those bottled emotions and toxins in the body.

This led to a developed passion for learning medicine and devotion to educating others about alternative and holistic healing, from the inside out. After 6 years of education in Chinese Medicine, Ellen received her Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine through South Baylo University in Los Angeles with both Clinic Excellence and Academic scholarships.

She focuses on the integration of Eastern and Western medicine, excellent patient care and serving the communities around her. Ellen strongly believes that balance and harmony is the key to health. She is a general practitioner, serving both new and existing patients with particular interests in pain management, sports injury, sleep disorders, emotional/mental issues, migraines and reproductive health.

Her treatments include acupuncture, electrical stimulation, herbal consultation and prescriptions, cupping & gua sha therapy, nutrition and exercise recommendations, taichi and other means to gain mindfulness in daily life. With her strong skill sets in holistic healing and an “always be on the side of patients” mindset, Ellen’s goal is to provide a superb patient experience by delivering the highest quality healthcare in a thorough, effective and caring manner.
