Initial acupuncture

consultation & treatment

Your first acupuncture appointment will typically last about 90 minutes. You will be asked to complete the New Patient Forms and Signed Documents before your first session

We begin with an in-depth conversation about your health history, reasons for visit, lifestyle, and goals for treatment. This conversation is an important part of the diagnostic process and allows us to get to know you and understand how best to address your health concerns. We can then recommend a course of treatment specifically tailored to your priorities.

After the diagnostic process, it is time for treatment. (click here to see our modalities). Once acupuncture needles have been placed into appropriate points in your body, we will usually leave you to relax under an infrared heat lamp in your serene treatment room for up to 20 minutes while you listen to your choice of music. This period allows the needles enough time to influence your body’s Qi. Most people look forward to this opportunity to relax and most even nap.

Follow up acupuncture treatment

Most follow-up acupuncture visits last one hour.

Each follow-up visit also begins with a conversation and thorough physical examination that includes tongue observation, pulse reading, and abdominal and trigger points palpation.

We will focus on tracking your progress, identifying changes in your condition, as well as addressing any new concerns.

Your individual needs will determine how often, and for how long, you will need to receive treatment (generally once, occasionally twice a week). As your condition improves and your symptoms are alleviated, the frequency of your treatments may be slowly reduced – to every other week, monthly, or even seasonally.

Acupuncture Quickies

Acupuncture Quickies are shorter and more streamlined treatments that address general well being concerns, for those who only have a short time in their day.

Immune booster is a 30 minute Quickie that improves your body's own healing power. Let the few needles work for you to increase your natural defenses and energy levels. Just rest and enjoy a dim sunrise light, our blend of anti-viral essential oils and quiet music.

Destress Acu-nap is a 30 minute Quickie for relaxing and rebooting the nervous system. Less than 10 needles are used  to regulate stress levels and help you step away from "fight or flight mode" by activating the para-sympathetic nervous system, or "rest and digest mode". Snooze while listening to nature sounds and wind chimes in a soft blue light.
